The CRYPTO-BOX® is NDAA compliant

11 March 2025

NDAA compliance means that a product or manufacturer meets the requirements of the U.S. National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The NDAA is an annual U.S. law that governs security and procurement policies for government agencies and their suppliers.

What rules must manufacturers of NDAA compliant products follow?

A critical section is Section 889 of the NDAA 2019, which restricts the purchase and use of certain technology products by U.S. federal agencies due to national security concerns. This primarily affects electronic devices, telecommunications, and IT products.

Who needs to be NDAA compliant?

  • Manufacturers & suppliers selling products to U.S. government agencies or contractors
  • IT, telecommunications, and security technology manufacturers, especially for cameras, networking devices, and IoT hardware
  • Companies working with U.S. federal agencies or federally funded projects

MARX products are NDAA compliant

MARX has had full vertical control over the entire manufacturing process since the beginning, 40 years ago, and is accredited as a "US Federal Subcontractor". The CRYPTO-BOX is an NDAA compliant product: For instance, no microprocessor, no "intelligent component" and no assembly is sourced from China - including software.

See the Regulatory Compliance section for further details on conformity declarations and certifications of our products. Or contact us for any questions.
