SmrxTiming - loop hardware testing tool for the CRYPTO-BOX

11 February 2013

A new updated feature to the SmrxTiming Tool includes a flexible console based time-measuring application that allows you to organize loop hardware testing for both local and network scenarios (including login/logout brackets and additional output added to log file). SmrxTiming can be used not only for CRYPTO-BOX related timing measurement, but also for various diagnostics.

Many API operations as reading and writing memory, hardware-based and software-based encryption (with the key stored in the hardware) can be very time consuming, depending on the size of the memory. SmrxTiming Tool estimates the average time when using CBIOS API and chooses an optimal algorithm (strategy).

Five Types of Useful Functions are Supported under SmrxTiming:

  • Login/Logout
  • Memory read/write
  • Rijndael AES hardware-based encryption
  • RSA software-based encryption with hardware stored keys
  • RSA hardware-based encryption

SmrxTiming Tool is currently implemented for Win32/64 platforms. The most recent package is available in our download area (MyMarx account required).
