Smarx Cloud Security (WEB API) with support for license binding

4 March 2013

Smarx Cloud Security (WEB API) ensures that only authenticated users will be able to access your web portal or any kind of content distributed via Internet/Intranet.

There are many ways in which Smarx Cloud Security is smart and profitable for your business. It ensures that support is provided only for paying customers, or access to specific content is for authorized service personnel only.

Smarx Cloud Security Offers the Following Possibilities:

  1. Manage Access to Web Content
This scenario is useful if you want to allow access only to authorized users. The website (or part of it) will look for a valid CRYPTO-BOX, and, depending on the status,  will allow or deny access to the content.

  2. Updating the CRYPTO-BOX
Smarx Cloud Security can also be used to update the CRYPTO-BOX. The process runs automatically, unlike the Remote Update Management System (RUMS), which requires you to manually send the activation keys. This enables you to continously generate revenue with additional features or more licenses. With Online License Management (available as an option) you can easily create different update plans for multiple scenarios.

The latest WEB API version 3.6 supports license binding for both above scenarios. One of its practical applications is to limit access to certain content or internal software operation to a particular company or department.

The sample code is included to the Smarx Cloud Security package and runs on PHP. On the client side, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Opera (Windows) and Firefox (Windows, Linux) are supported. The source code for implementation into your own project is available on request - please contact us
