Protection and Licensing under LabVIEW with a Snap

14 July 2015

The recently released Professional Protection Kit (PPK) Version 7.0 contains a completely new LabVIEW package.

Compared to the previous LabVIEW sample, showing developers how to call a CRYPTO-BOX® API function from VI script for Windows platform, the new package is a highly automated cross-platform solution (Windows and OSX are supported). It improves the user experience and makes the implementation of software protection and licensing options offered by the CRYPTO-BOX system very easy.

Features:

  • No need to use Call Library Function Node, just drag and drop corresponding VI wrappers into the VI
  • Use both local and network licensing modes
  • Use all cryptographic features of the Smarx OS API, including CRYPTO-BOX SC specific (hardware RSA and multiple AES/RSA keys)
  • Support for both CBIOS and DO interfaces
  • Correctly deploy protected applications

The package includes not only interface specific samples (CBIOS, DO and CRYPTO-BOX SC specific functions), but also a special prototype VI which can be used to protect a LabVIEW project by following these easy steps:

  • Selecting the licensing options which are relevant to the licensing strategy
  • Changing demo access codes to customer specific CRYPTO-BOX access codes
  • Adding product specific code
